A View From Baghdad

The new Baghdad security plan started , many resident Shiites& Sunnis are skeptical about it, at the same time they wish the plan will succeed they have
Many fears and doubts that. There are many reasons for that. My be the main reasons is there lack of confidence in the security forces, but before one can suggest some points that can contribute for the success of this plan, one must determine who the enemy is the enemies to the security in Iraq are will known. They are
1-The insurgent and their supporters (mostly Sunni Arabs from outside the country and -al Qaeda affiliated persons)
2-The militias and their supporters mostly Shiites from various parts of Iraq, and Iranian backed groups & criminal gangs operating in Baghdad, there are to threats have been identified not only by ordinary peace loving Iraqis, but by the American also, In fast the American military have labeled the militias as the No. 1 threat to Americans in Iraq. Thus the new security plan, which is based on the new, or let as say, the revised American strategy for Iraq is based on these 2 factors of course there are other factors that the new strategy has taken into consideration, but those 2 are the most important.

Objectives of security plan

As one might think is to pacify Baghdad, by stopping the sectarian cleansing tacking place now, hence to give Iraq a new hope, this means preventing Iraq from slipping into an open civil war, which if happened will be a great setback to American national security interests, in the whole world. In order to achieve this plan the following tasks should be carried out.

TASKS

1-Get rid of the militias and all their supporters – especially Iran.
2- Purge the Iraq security forces as much as can be done.
3- Fight the insurgent and deny them the ability to operate in Baghdad & take advantage of Sunni neighborhood where they might find some sympathy for their cause.
4- Decrease the social tensions between Iraqis.
5- Achieve national reconciliation between Iraqis.
6- Provide services to Baghdad inhabitants, & make Baghdad a city that one can live in again.
7- Other tasks relevant to the objectives.

Now
The Americans need the cooperation of Iraqis in providing enough troops for the implementation of this plan. The Iraq Government will use the forces of the MOD –Iraqi army- & MOI – Police & other security forces.
It is well known fact that these 2 forces are infiltrated by militias to certain degrees. The MOI forces are greatly infiltrated by militias & their Loyalty is not to the MOI but to their political & sectarian parties. Although the government is Shiite& some Sunni dominated government but it is says that’s the government for all Iraqi. This is the reason for the Sunni distrust in this government in fact. This government depends on the( sadrists) for their political support in parliament & no one believes that it will agree on taking steps to disband or fight the militias responsible for the trouble in Baghdad .The Iranian backed( mahdi) army . Thus the government is considered by the Sunni as part of the problem rather as part solution. On the other hand the Shiites also distrust the same government, especially when PM Speaks about an all Iraq government & an even handed treatment of all sects in Iraq. In fact news has leaked lately that differences between Americans & Iraqi official about the Implementation of this plan are the reason. Why the plan has been delayed. While Americans want to start to work in all Baghdad districts, Iraqi officials want to start in Sunni neighborhood. While minimizing the danger of Mahdi militias threat thus to ensure the success of this plan .The following points should be taken into careful consideration.

1- Even handedness when dealing with all Iraqis.
2- Humane treatment of people during neighborhoods inspections & other
      operations.
3- Bipartisan behavior by Iraqi government forces.
4- Providing services to all neighborhoods.
5- Taking all steps to reduce social tension Iraqi factions. this can be achieved as follows.
A- Avoiding all frictions points between Shiite and Sunnis.
B- Closing all borders with Iran & Syria. Especially Rabea Border in north west Iraq. Using Forces from old Iraqi army.
C- Insisting on the Iraq government that the plan be implemented & manner.
D Releasing all prisoners who have no case against them ASAP.
Dear Sir. I am Sure If The all Answer Send To You About IRAQ Are Fulfilled. IRAQ Will Find Peace And Stability Quickly. GOD Bless all Working to help Iraqi people. With Best Love from all to you Chief....

Differences Friend or Foe?

A World Torn Apart by Differences: We live in a complex world; a world full of diversity. While similarities do exist, our world is made up of entirely different people, billions of people, with different cultures, different religions, different traditions, different languages, different habits, different beliefs, different social/ economical status, and the list goes on. Unfortunately historically we as human beings have not demonstrated that we are competent in dealing with these differences and in most cases perhaps are more incompetent in relating to and understanding these differences. One need but look around at all the violence in the world to see how really inept we are at understanding the dissimilarities that exist in the inhabitants of our world. More often than not these same differences breed hatred, discontent, misunderstanding, contempt, dislike, disrespect, prejudice, discrimination, intolerance, bigotry, and injustice, which unfortunately lead to violence, conflict and war. The war in Iraq is a perfect example of how difficult it is for the Western world and the Middle Eastern world to understand and coexist peacefully with each other. Each body of people is firm in their convictions and beliefs, unable to comprehend and tolerate the differences that exist between them. If you listen to the rhetoric and observe the behavior of the insurgencies in Iraq you can see how we are worlds apart in our beliefs, our expectations, and our interpretation of life. It is also apparent that fear of the misunderstood differences is the main driving force and catalyst for most of our problems. The Iraqi people are caught in the middle between the Occupiers and the foreign fighters, confused about who the real enemy is. On the surface our intentions are not clear. As the occupier we are misinterpreted, misunderstood, and distrusted. The Iraqis have been told that we are the infidels; occupying their country in order to take their resources. If you were to look around Iraq you would see the US troops dug into their fortified hardened walled in facilities, not quite the appearance of someone leaving in the near future. They are not sure what to think of us or their fellow Arab brothers who have come claiming to save them. How do they correctly interpret both of our intentions and motivations, when both appear to have their own agendas and both are to one degree or another disruptive, destructive and engaged in killing? During the first phase of the war, with our superior military might, we were victorious in ousting Saddam and subduing his armies. But now, in the second phase of the war, we are expecting our young military men and women to continue to search and destroy the ever present insurgents and to also now win the peace by winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqi and Afghanistan people. They are required to simultaneously maintain a certain killer mindset, eradicating all bad guys, and to communicate with the community with love and kindness. It is a lot to expect of a 19, 20 year old kid. How do we communicate our true intentions, when words aren’t effective? How do we communicate through the layers of culture, tradition, and religion so that our true hearts can be understood? What tools do we give our soldiers to accomplish this goal, while they are in harms and just trying to stay alive each and every day? How do we reach out to the people when you can’t tell the difference between them and the enemy? How do we gain their trust and understanding, so that we can win their hearts and minds, when there are so many differences? So what is the answer, what is the solution? Surely it is not retreating to the safety of our own borders, leaving the Iraqi people to fend for themselves against the insurgents, the Saddam leftovers, and the neighboring countries. Surely our message to the disadvantaged and underprivileged people of the world is not going to be everyone fight for themselves; fight for your own freedom and democracy. Will no one stand up against the viscous controlling forces of evil? We all want to bring our soldiers home, removing them from harms way, but at what cost. For the sake of the entire world we need to finish what we have started. If no one else, then we must be the bastion and defender of freedom, protecting and fighting for the rights of all mankind. Someone needs to care enough or someday it will be us crying for help. In order for this to be accomplished we must become competent in dealing with all our various differences, to the end that they are understood and accepted. We must figure out a way to communicate through the differences so that our real intent can be seen and appreciated. We can either hate the differences and thus hate the people, resorting to conflict as the only solution or we can really sincerely reach out to each other with love and kindness, communicating our true hearts through our actions. We are a nation divided by bi-partisan politics, full of hatred and distaste for one another. We have become consumed by our own negativity; taking every opportunity to lash out and bash one another. We are no longer the united voice for equality for all, now side tracked by continual finger pointing, name calling and blaming. We have lost our focus, distracted by the noise of the daily dose of news negativity. It is time for the people of our nation to rally around solidarity. We need to be unified in our efforts to help the soldiers win the peace through winning the hearts and minds of the people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Although a great cause we need to do more than just support the troops with care packages, we now need to provide the soldiers with what they need to accomplish their mission and return home triumphant. We cannot accomplish anything divided and actually our divisiveness hinders our troop’s efforts to win the peace. Our division on this shows a lack of commitment, and creates distrust and hopelessness. We must all unite in a way that we provide a solution to the Iraqi people. We need to provide them with the resources, the supplies, the equipment, the venture capital, the training and the skills, so that industries can be set up, an economy can be established, creating jobs and income for everyone. Once they have a job, an income, they will stand on their own and the fighting will stop.We need to put politics aside and focus on accomplishing the mission at hand, in order to bring our men and women home as soon as possible. The sooner they complete their mission the sooner they will come home. In our efforts to support them we should do whatever it takes to help them accomplish their mission. President Bush has stated that as soon as our mission is accomplished we will bring the troops home. Operation Give through giving of resources, equipment, and training can:1.Provide our soldiers with the things they need to win the peace. We can help to win the peace, by winning the hearts and minds of the people. 2.Build bridges of love and concern that span over hatred and misunderstandings.3.Unify our country and bind our nation, creating a common front, with the sole purpose of creating peace and prosperity in that region. Unite we stand divided we fall.Chief Wiggles Doing it the Wiggles Way. ....

Life

<!-- 		@page { margin: 0.79in } 		P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } 	-->
In the course of life here on earth, there seems be two ways that we can choose to live. The first way I define as life’s trap. In this way we live according to other’s desires and wishes; attempting to live up to their expectations. We attempt to live what is considered by others to be a normal life. In this first case we find our selves in life’s trap; stuck into believing that we must endure life, putting up with the daily routine of a mediocre existence. We live re-actively instead of proactively. We take what is dished out instead of making our own choices. We become stuck in our jobs, our career, our relationships, etc., all the while thinking that somehow we are responsible for the happiness of those around us. We give up our own dreams in order that someone else might use us as a player in their story. We allow the takers of our life to feed upon us, as if our purpose was to be there for them.

The other way is to live life according to our own wishes, choosing to follow our own dreams and desires. In this case we allow life to take us along our chosen path, following the desires of our heart, pursuing our passions. We don’t allow life to dictate our path. On the contrary we live life deliberately, following what we consider to be our destiny. In this case we realize that we are not responsible for other’s happiness and that our happiness is not dependent on their being happy. We also realize early on that the only way to be truly happy is to pursue the development of our God given talents and God given opportunities.

In this second option life becomes a tapestry of interwoven events that lead us to our divinely inspired purpose. God has a plan for each of us and has sent us here that we might achieve the essence of our creation. In this way we are not tossed to and fro on the sea of life, but rather look for inspiration from above to guide us along a path of connected events, leading us to the fulfillment of our being.

And thus the question becomes how might I become connected to my creator, the designer of my individual plan of life. How might I hear the wind chimes along the way or see the lighthouses along my life’s path?

And for thus of us stuck in life’s trap in the first option, how do we become unstuck?. How do we prevent others from yanking us around on their life lines? Is it required of us to become a participant in their parade, like members of a band, playing nothing but other’s tunes? How do we live more deliberately and authentically, being true to ourselves, pursuing the path that God would have us on?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I would like to personally thank all of you who have helped in making 2005 a banner year for Operation Give. There were many obstacles and many hurdles to overcome but 2005 was also filled with many miraculous events and magical occurrences. It was a great year. Thousands of sincere, charitable people stepped forward with pure acts of kindness, donating wonderful items and money in order to bring happiness into the lives of thousands of Iraqi and Afghanistan children.
Our US military men and women, with the help of numerous Iraqi and Afghanistan people, were able to deliver with love your generous gifts. Through these acts of kindness, made possible by all of you, they were able to build bridges of love and understanding. Consequently, our men and women in the military were able to make great strides towards our goal of winning the hearts and minds of the people they are fighting for. Through love and kindness we can all help build these bridges spanning misunderstandings, distrust, and hatred, that permeates the society of that part of the world. Through love we will find a way and the answers to our problems.
Unfortunately, there are those who chose hatred as their answer and desire all free men and women to be in bondage or killed. There are evil forces that fight against democratic free rule, wanting only for their own power and position. For this reason we must continue to fight back to insure our own freedom. We must not back down or retreat to the safety of our own distant homes, for they are coming and they are relentless. We can only hope that the opportunity to let our true selves shine through will arise, enabling the people of these countries to see who we really are. We ask that all of you do what you can to help us now win the peace through your own acts of love and kindness.
Help us win the peace. Give to Operation Give
ThanksChief WigglesDoing it the wiggles way.
